Who We Are

Ashirvad – Daily Blessings is a mobile application developed by Nirantara LLP. The app provides personalised Hindu deity blessings, mantra chanting, and daily spiritual guidance.

Data Stored on Your Device

Ashirvad is designed with a privacy-first approach. All of the following is stored only on your device using Android’s local storage. It is never uploaded to any server and never shared with any third party.

• Your selected deity (e.g. Ganesh, Shiva, Lakshmi)
• Your preferred prayer music selection
• Your display name (if entered)
• Your daily prayer streak and prayer history
• Your total prayer time
• Your preferred notification time
• Custom deity details (name, mantra, image) if created
• Sankalp Mode settings (blocked apps, schedule)

You can erase all of this data at any time via:
Android Settings → Apps → Ashirvad → Storage → Clear Data

Data Retention

All preferences and prayer activity remain stored locally on your device until you uninstall the application or manually clear the application storage through your device settings.

Network Connections

The app makes the following network requests:

a) Daily blessing content – fetched from our content database (Supabase). This request includes only:

• The name of your selected deity
• Today’s date

No device identifiers, no account information, and no personal data are sent.

b) Firebase Analytics – see the Analytics section below.

All connections are secured using HTTPS encryption.

Notifications

If you grant notification permission, the app schedules a daily reminder locally on your device at your chosen time. This is processed entirely on your device — no notification data is sent to any server.

Notifications can be disabled at any time via:
Android Settings → Apps → Ashirvad → Notifications

Analytics

The app uses Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to understand how features are used and improve the experience.

Automatically collected by Firebase:

• Device model and operating system version
• Country and language settings
• App version
• Session duration and screen views
• A random anonymous instance ID (not tied to your identity)

Custom events logged by the app (no personal data attached):

• blessing_viewed — a daily blessing was displayed
• prayer_started / prayer_completed — prayer session usage (includes deity name and duration in seconds)
• devta_selected — which deity was chosen during onboarding
• onboarding_completed — the setup flow was finished
• sankalp_pause_completed — a Sankalp mindful pause ended
• blessing_shared — a blessing was shared externally

Firebase Analytics does not collect your name, email, phone number, precise location, or any personally identifiable information. No advertising identifiers are used.

You can limit analytics data collection by disabling “Usage & diagnostics” in your Android device settings.

Sankalp Mode

Sankalp Mode is an optional feature that helps you take mindful pauses when opening selected apps. If you enable it:

• The app uses the Usage Access permission to detect which app is in the foreground.
• The list of apps you choose to block is stored locally on your device.
• A foreground service runs to monitor app launches.

This data is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to any server. You can disable Sankalp Mode at any time from the app’s settings.

Camera and Photo Library

If you create a custom deity, you may optionally take a photo or pick one from your library. Camera and photo library access is requested only when you use this feature.

The image is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to any server.

App Permissions

Ashirvad may request the following device permissions to enable specific features:

• Internet – used to retrieve daily blessing content and images
• Notifications – used to send optional daily prayer reminders
• Usage Access – used by Sankalp Mode to detect when selected apps are opened
• Boot Completed – used to restore scheduled reminders after the device restarts
• Camera / Photo Library – used optionally when creating a custom deity

These permissions are used only to enable app functionality and are not used to collect personal information.

What We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or phone number
• We do not track your precise location
• We do not use advertising networks or ad tracking
• We do not use cookies or web tracking
• We do not create user accounts
• We do not sell or share any personal data with third parties

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services:

Supabase (supabase.com)
Purpose: Hosting blessing content (read-only database)
Data sent: Selected deity name and today’s date only

Firebase Analytics (Google)
Purpose: Anonymous app usage analytics
Data sent: Anonymous event data (see Analytics section above)

No advertising platforms or ad SDKs are used.

Children’s Privacy

Ashirvad is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

All user preferences, prayer activity, and settings are stored locally on the user’s device and are not transmitted to external servers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes occur, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
